YOUR PRIVACY

Privacy policy

Your learning is personal. Here is how Curievo handles the information you share, what leaves your device, and the choices available to you.

Updated 13 September 2026 · Website and mobile application

Curievo is operated by Datavex Labs Ltd, United Kingdom. We are responsible for the personal data used to provide Curievo. Contact us at datavexlabsltd@gmail.com.

Your private courses, questions, profile and uploaded documents are not public lessons. AI services process information needed to respond to you; learning does not happen entirely on your device.

Your account and learning

We use your email address, account identifier and sign-in records to authenticate you and keep your learning associated with your account across devices. An email address is needed to create a learning account; reading public pages does not require one.

When you request a course or ask a question, we process the text you submit, relevant course context, and the interests, preferences and background you provide. We retain generated lessons and answers, exercises, feedback, and reading or listening progress so you can resume and receive more relevant explanations. Your recent learning requests can influence which learning suggestions appear.

If you use voice questions, your microphone recording is sent for transcription. You can review the resulting text before submitting the question. If you attach a PDF, its file name, contents and extracted material are processed to prepare your lesson. These features are optional; you can use typed questions without a microphone or document.

We also process access entitlements, usage counters and technical records of requests and failures to deliver the service, enforce usage limits and resolve interrupted operations. Hosting and authentication providers receive connection information, including IP addresses and browser or device information.

Where UK or EU data protection law applies, providing the account, requested learning and subscription access is processing needed to perform our contract with you. Protecting accounts, preventing abuse and diagnosing failures serves our legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable service. Applicable accounting and legal duties may require us to retain transaction records.

Services that process your data

Curievo uses external services for specific parts of the product. The information involved depends on the features you use:

Cloudflare and Supabase
Hosting, protected storage, databases, authentication and sign-in email delivery. These services process account and learning data and technical connection records.
OpenAI
Preparing and checking explanations, questions and visual material. Inputs can include your request, relevant private learning context, document extracts and the text of your questions. Public-source research can also use search queries derived from the topic.
Groq and Fish Audio
Groq processes recordings for speech-to-text. Fish Audio receives text to produce spoken lessons and answers. This is separate from recording your own voice.
Expo and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging
When notifications are enabled, these services handle the device delivery token and notification payload. Your notification settings control whether a learning preview appears.
Whop, RevenueCat and the relevant app store
When checkout is available and you use it, the payment service handles billing. Curievo uses account-linked purchase identifiers, subscription status and transaction information to manage access. Card details are entered with the payment provider, not in the Curievo learning interface.

Providers operate internationally. Curievo currently uses a database hosted in the United States, and information may be processed outside your country. Contact us for information about the arrangements and safeguards applicable to your data. Provider-side retention and legal obligations are separate from deletion in Curievo; we do not promise that every provider retains data for zero days.

Optional features and choices

Sign-in, saved progress and the storage needed to remember your privacy choice are separate from optional measurement. Withdrawing consent stops the optional processing concerned; it does not undo processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Retention and deletion

Account history and generated learning remain available while your account is open. Removing a profile note stops it being used as an active preference; it does not rewrite lessons already generated from earlier context.

Temporary recordings expire after 24 hours and are queued for removal. Unattached document drafts also expire after 24 hours. Uploaded PDF files are queued for removal once extraction has completed; material already attached to a course remains part of that private learning. Submitted question text can remain in your course history after the recording is removed. Cleanup can take longer if an operation must be retried. Optional measured web journeys expire after 30 days and are removed by cleanup, or earlier when their erasure is requested.

You can request account deletion in the application’s profile or on our account deletion page. The request closes learning access and starts erasure of your learning data and managed copies. Keep the deletion receipt to check what has been confirmed. Backups, providers’ internal records, and financial or security records can require separate handling. We retain records needed to fulfil legal obligations, prevent deleted accounts from being restored, and resolve outstanding transactions or disputes.

Deleting an account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it with the billing provider to stop future charges. Files you have downloaded or shared outside Curievo are not removed by deleting your account.

Your rights and contact

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may request access to or a copy of your personal data, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact datavexlabsltd@gmail.com for these requests or a privacy question. We may need to verify your identity before disclosing or changing account information.

You can also complain to your local data protection authority. In the United Kingdom, this is the Information Commissioner’s Office.

We update this page when relevant practices change and show the date above. A change that requires new consent will not be treated as accepted just because the text of this page changed.
